Yes James.
When they have a person that has been on lots of meds for a while, they sometimes have complications with the anisesia, and it can get dicey.
My Dad had a procedure done, and they almost didn't get him back out of it. He was in his 60's when that happened.
A few years later he had to have his knee replaced, and they woulden't put him all the way under. They gave him a spinal tap, and did it while he was semi awake.
His knee felt so good after that, he wanted to have his other knee done. They wouldent do the second one, (he was too old by then).
My little sister had tha same procedure that you had done.
Like you, she just had it done about a week ago or so.
She is still in the tough pain part rite now. It takes a couple of weeks to get over the hump, and then you start to feel a little better.
She had the bone taken from her hip for her procedure.
I have heard people say that years after a procedure like that, the part that pains you is where they took the bone for the graft.
Be glad you got doner bone for that reason.
I am waiting for the disk replacements. My back is too messed up for the typical fusion procedures. The disk'a above and below my "Bad" one are bad themselves, and cant take the load of a spine fusion.
The new disk procedures are comming soon I'm told, so I have to wait.
Broke both my legs more than once though.
Had one of my femurs screwed together with 17 screws and two radiator type hose clamps when I was 25. Two yeas later I had to have all the hardware removed, and a year after that, it broke through a old screw hole. I had to have a rod inserted down the center of my femur after that. Been good ever since, no complaints.
Left leg was just a common tibia break, pice of cake, and I had a Fibula fracture once too. They don't do shit for them. They tell you you can live without one, and give you some pain meds.
There, don't you feel better now!!
Youll pull throgh just fine. Just take it easy for a while, and follow the doc's orders so you don't mess up his work.
Be patient.
